Patriarche Père & Fils is one of Burgundy's oldest and most respected houses with over 240 years of winemaking tradition. This Pinot Noir is vinified using traditional Burgundian methods, with 15 days of vatting and stainless steel aging to preserve its bright, fruit-driven profile. In the glass, it reveals an intense red colour with purple reflections, opening to a bouquet of fresh red berries - strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant - and a delicate hint of spice and vanilla. Light-bodied yet structured, it offers a smooth texture and vibrant acidity, delivering a refined balance of fruit and freshness. Subtle earthy undertones and fine tannins round out the elegant finish. Versatile and immediately enjoyable, this wine pairs beautifully with cold cuts, roast meats, poultry, pasta dishes, and mature cheeses. Serve slightly chilled to highlight its freshness.

On the nose there are aromas of citrus, as well as honeydew melon and some stone fruit (peach and nectarine). In addition there is a hint of struck match which adds complexity and a flinty minerality. The palate is concentrated with refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.

The palate is generously full and fruity with plush velvety tannins that lead on to a lingering tangy aftertaste. While ready to drink on release we expect this wine to improve for several years and live for well over a decade with careful cellaring.

Upon release the wine is bright ruby in colour. There is a teasing array of vibrant red fruit on the nose including raspberry, pomegranate, cherry and plum. Spice and herbal notes, as well as a savoury underlay, add to the wine's complexity. While the palate has generous fruit weight and velvety tannins, it is balanced with refreshing acidity and a structure that gives the wine classic North Canterbury tension and pinosity.

Bin 389 is often referred to as 'Baby Grange', in part because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. Exemplifying the judicious balance of fruit and oak, Bin 389 highlights the generous mid-palate Penfolds is known for. The 2023 release leaves a lasting impression of power and elegance - layered and balanced, with rich dark fruits, supple tannins, and a long, savoury finish. A thoughtful blend of varietals. Red fruits flood the palate, with vibrant flavours of red currant and tart cranberry. Savoury flavours of black olive emerge, accompanied by a blend of orange zest, fennel, and olive. Impeccable, fine tannins conclude the experience, leaving a lasting impression of both power and elegance.

A cabernet reflection of Grange. Full-bodied with proven cellaring potential, shows a mid-palate richness with saturated dark fruit flavours of blackberry and mulberry fused with notes of dark chocolate and liquorice.
